On March 1st, Mrs. Pollitts 8th grade language arts classes read the short story by Edgar Allen Poe; Tell Tale Heart.
Along with reading the story, students tried to catch the writers style, which is the way the author writes and explains who they are. Students also listened to the story to hear the tone of the author.
To find the writers style students have to identify foreshadowing, inference, figurative language, repetition, symbols, and imagery. Students used a graphic organizer to figure out the writers style.
When students were done reading the Tell-Tale Heart, they were required to take a short quiz on it. The quiz was about finding writers style, the students had to take this story by Edgar Allen Poe and apply it to the elements of writers style.
